Lionel Gabe Bangs Death – Vehicle Accident: The Louisiana State Police Department Troopers with Troop I has identified the adult male victim that was pronounced dead after sustaining life threatening injuries in the ghastly double-vehicle accident that occurred in Evangeline Parish, very early on Saturday morning, August 20, 2022, as 22-year-old Lionel Gabe Bangs of Ville Platte.

Police reports according to The Louisiana State Police Department Troop I shows that just at approximately 2:30 a.m. this morning, troopers recieved an emergency notification about a multi vehicle accident which may have left both drivers seriously injured in the Evangeline Parish neighbourhood.

Upon reaching the scene on Louisiana Highway 3042 near Theophile Road in Evangeline Parish, troopers located two adult victims suffering from injuries sustained from the just reported accident. Both were drivers involved. Unfortunately one of the driver who was later identified as Lionel Gabe Bangs, 22, of Ville Platte was pronounced dead right at the scene of the crash after succumbing to his fatal injuries.

While the other driver an adult female who was identified as Danielle Clark, 33, also of Ville Platte, was rescued and transported to a nearby hospital with what police called moderate injuries. Both drivers involved were not properly restrained at the time of the fatal crash (They weren’t using the safety seat belt).

Police reports further revealed that the fatal collision occurred as Bangs was traveling in a 2010 Nissan Sentra south on LA 3042, while at the same time, a 2014 Buick LaCrosse, being driven by 33-year-old Danielle Clark of Ville Platte, was traveling north on LA 3042.

For reasons still under investigation, Clark’s Buick crossed the center line into the path of the Sentra. Upon doing so, the vehicles struck head-on in the northbound lane of travel leaving both drivers who were the only occupants in the vehicles injured.

Impairment on the part of both drivers is unknown at this time but toxicology results have been submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. This crash remains under the investigation of The Louisiana State Police Department Troop I while charges are pending, police said.
