Shooting at Eastern View High School Culpeper VA Today: After receiving an unverified report of an active shooter at Eastern View High School on Monday afternoon, September 19, 2022, all Culpeper County Public Schools were placed on immediate lockdown for safety and security measures.
No recorded injuries exist. According to spokesman Lt. Les Tyler, there were no firearms or active shooters to be found. As of 2:34 PM, schools were still on lockdown while personnel removed the structures. On Monday, September 19, at 1:34 pm, Culpeper County dispatch received a call reporting an active shooter, according to Tyler.
In order to encourage authorities to come, he claimed, other similar hoax calls warning of active shooters were apparently also received nearby. When Eastern View High School was reported to have an active shooter, Culpeper County Public Schools said the Sheriff’s Department had looked into the 911 call.
“There was NO CREDIBLE THREAT to Eastern View or any Culpeper County Public School. Secondary schools have begun dismissal. Elementary buses will be late,” according to the school system.
Around 2:40, the Culpeper County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the earlier story on social media by stating that they were still quite present at EVHS. “We are currently clearing Eastern View High school at the moment. The reunification point for Eastern View High School families is the Sports Complex,” the sheriff’s office said.
In a statement published on Sunday, Fauquier County Sheriff Jeremy Falls stated that there had been an allegation of a vague threat made against Warrenton’s Liberty High School. According to the announcement, the threat was looked into right away and was not directly related to Liberty. On Monday, there were more police officers present at Liberty High School out of an abundance of caution.
