Calumet County Sheriff Confirmed Menasha Bicyclist Dead After Crash on Old Highway Rd

Old Highway Rd Bicyclist Accident: The Calumet County Sheriff’s Office Deputies has confirmed that an elderly male bicyclist was pronounced dead after sustaining life-threatening injuries in a ghastly vehicle versus bicycle accident which was reported to have occurred on Old Highway Rd near Lakeview Ct. in the Village of Harrison, on Thursday, September 22nd, 2022.

Police reports according to Lt. Eric Voland with The Calumet County Sheriff stated that just at approximately 7:02 A.M., early this morning, deputies responded to a vehicle vs. bicycle crash on Old Highway Rd near Lakeview Ct. in the Village of Harrison. Upon the arrival of deputies and first responders, the bicyclist had passed away.

The preliminary investigation shows that both the vehicle and bicyclist were traveling eastbound on Old Highway Rd when the bicyclist was struck from behind by the vehicle. It’s believed the brightness of the sun was a contributing factor for the crash. Unfortunately the elderly male bicyclist who was just identified as 60 year old male from Menasha was pronounced dead right at the scene by officials.

The vehicle was driven by a 16 year female from Kaukauna and she is cooperating with the investigation. The names of those involved are being withheld until family members have been notified. Deputies were also assisted by Harrison First Responders and Gold Cross Ambulance.
